Burwood is a thriving retail and dining destination, well know across Greater Sydney.

Council is leveraging opportunities to expand the destination opportunities in Burwood through the delivery of transformative community infrastructure projects. This along with other longer term priorities, urban renewal and new development, are elevating opportunities to make our town centre vibrant, diverse, with a range of activities and experiences that attract visitors, whilst meeting local resident needs.

Council also recognises that a more diverse night time economy, will contribute to safer places within our centres, making Burwood a more attractive destination for business and the broader community.

To assist with the implementation of a vibrant, diverse and safe night time economy, Burwood Council is developing an After Dark Strategy for the Burwood Town Centre.

We recognise the significant potential our night time economy has on the overall economic vitality and social vibrancy of our city.

To harness this potential and shape a thriving night time economy, we are consulting with our community and businesses on opportunities to boost the Burwood Town Centre experience after dark.

The Burwood After Dark Strategy will provide the directions to deliver a dynamic night-time economy, with a diversity of cultural, hospitality and entertainment opportunities for all members of our community.
