Background

The Statement of Business Ethics sets out the standards Council expects when working with suppliers, contractors, consultants and partners. It explains how we ensure our business dealings are fair, transparent and lawful.

The updated Statement reflects current expectations and risks, including modern slavery laws, cyber security and information management, as well as lessons from integrity investigations. It also supports ethical, sustainable and socially responsible procurement.

While not required by law, having a Statement of Business Ethics is a long-standing practice for councils and helps prevent corruption and ensure public trust.
