Be part of shaping a unique and vibrant atmosphere at Fridays at Ford Lane. Taking place one Friday evening per month from August to November, this series will celebrate the newly transformed Ford Lane, soon to be home to striking commissioned murals that honour Burwood’s musical icons and stories, past and present.
Each event will light up the lane with live music by local creatives, a pop-up bar, delicious street food, and a welcoming outdoor seating zone. Just moments from Burwood Station, the electrifying artworks and lively programming will draw attention and foot traffic, transforming the lane into a must-visit destination.
With the capacity to host up to 200 guests, Fridays at Ford Lane is more than just a local event - it will have extensive online reach, with performances professionally filmed and streamed as part of a later digital live session series.
We are seeking 4 x $2,500 sponsorships to power the stage for local performers and creatives, enabling them to transform the space through music, art, and storytelling. With overwhelming community support calling for its return, this year’s program promises even more magic as the cul-de-sac at the end of Paisley Lane is transformed into a lively public square celebrating Christmas, community, and local heritage. The event features live music, dance performances, and community choirs, creating a joyful atmosphere for all ages. Adding to the festive spirit, over 30 local business shopfronts will once again be adorned with specially commissioned Christmas artworks, beautifully hand painted, enhancing the event’s theme and bringing the streets to life. Christmas Carols is longstanding tradition in Burwood Park offering a wonderful evening of entertainment for families of the Burwood community and surrounds. This free event features a variety of performances, and activities for children, food stalls, an inspiring fireworks display, plus a special appearance by Santa Claus. This year's event will also include the renowned Cambridge Christmas Markets.

Burwood Art Prize 2026
May to June 2026, Burwood Community Hub
The Burwood Art Prize, now in its eight year, showcases Sydney’s best emerging and established artists. Open to all artists based in Greater Sydney, the Prize attracts 400+ entrants per year and exhibits up to 100 finalists across a growing number of artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, small sculpture, video works, and works on paper and canvas.
In 2025 the Prize was doubled to $20,000 with $10,000 sponsorship. In 2026, Council is again seeking a sponsor to contribute $10,000 towards the Major Prize, continuing its prestigious $20,000 value. This is a fantastic opportunity for a business looking to elevate its brand while actively supporting artistic excellence in the heart of Sydney's Cultural Playground.
With a focus on increasing visitation and community engagement, Council offers unique public programs and a dazzling opening night, solidifying the Burwood Art Prize as a key event in Sydney’s cultural landscape.
