Burwood Council has commenced the Park Expansion Project.

The project involves demolition of three Council-owned, ageing properties located on 4 and 6 Portland Street, Enfield, and 33 Russell Street, Strathfield that would need to be repaired and maintained at significant cost.

Demolition of the properties will help create spaces that open up nearby parks with new landscaping features and planted trees.

The park expansion project will deliver an additional 1,450m2 of green open space for community use.

Works are due to be completed by December 2024.
