Works have been progressing well across the worksite, despite a few wet weather delays.

The sportsfield is on track to being laying turf from August 2025 whilst the picnic area has been prepped for new BBQs and furniture.

The new spectator seating has been installed and will open to the public soon once the newly laid turf has established.

In October 2024, Burwood Council invited community feedback on the proposed upgrade of two sports fields at Henley Park in Enfield.

The project involves revitalising Fields 3 and 4, which cover approximately 20,000m², with the installation of new turf and a state-of-the-art subsoil drainage and irrigation system. These upgrades will significantly enhance the playability and condition of the fields.

In addition to improving the fields, the project will provide new tiered spectator seating at fields 1 and 2, new BBQ facilities and tables in the existing picnic area. These upgrades will further enrich the recreational experience within the Henley Park precinct.

The project will also address existing drainage issues and water ponding around the amenities building to ensure the fields remain safe and functional in all weather conditions.

See the concept design below for more details on the proposed Henley Park Sports Field Upgrade.

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.
