Background
Burwood Council's Code of Meeting Practice provides that a Public Forum will be held before each Council meeting allowing members of the public to address Council on any item on the agenda for that council meeting.
The proposed Public Forum Policy outlines the way in which those Forums will be run. This includes rules around applying to speak at the Forum, how many speakers can be heard at each Forum and how long they can speak, the conduct of people addressing the Forum, guidance for councillors on managing conflicts of interest at the Forum, and other operational matters.
The draft Public Forum Policy is now exhibited for public comment.
