In carrying out its work, Burwood Council collects, stores and uses personal information relating to its customers, suppliers, employees and councillors. The proposed Privacy Management Plan outlines how Council will manage the personal information and health information it holds.

The Plan shows how Council will ensure compliance with the Information Privacy Principles outlined in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Privacy Principles outlined in the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002.

The Plan also describes the public registers held by Council and the primary and secondary of purposes of those registers, which is used to determine the extent to which the personal information in those registers can be disclosed to others.

A copy of the draft Plan is available to view in the Document Library.

If you have something to say on any aspect of the draft Plan, we encourage you to make a submission. All submissions must be in writing and must be received by Monday 29 January 2024. Please include the subject line: “Submission – Privacy Management Plan”.
