The public exhibition period runs from Friday 30 September to Thursday 27 October 2022.

Burwood Council is proposing 3 separate Codes of Conduct that have been tailored to support the different groups of people involved in delivering Council functions.

  • The Code of Conduct for Councillors sets the minimum standard of conduct expected of elected councillors.
  • The Code of Conduct for Council Staff sets the minimum standard of conducted expected of Council employees, whether permanent, temporary or casual.
  • The Code of Conduct for Council Committee Members, Delegates of Council, Council Advisers, Volunteers, Contractors and Members of Wholly Advisory Committees extends the same standard of conduct to others involved in the functions of Burwood Council.
  • The Procedures for the Administration of the Codes of Conduct outlines how the Codes will be implemented and how any alleged breaches will be dealt with.

If you have something to say about any aspect of the draft Codes or Procedures, we encourage you to make a submission. All submissions must be in writing and must be received by 27 October 2022. Please include in the subject line “Submission – Codes of Conduct”.
