In a huge win for our community, Burwood Council was successful in receiving a $96 million boost for the delivery of 11 transformational community infrastructure projects through the WestInvest fund, leaving a legacy of world class spaces for generations to come.

Excitingly, one of the funded projects includes the re-imagination of Burwood Road into a vibrant and iconic food and cultural destination. The project will improve the night time economy, access and pedestrian movement through the town centre, with colourful wall murals as well as new spaces to stop, dwell and eat.

A hero element of this project is the development of a large scale tall building mural.

To bring this feature to life, Burwood Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitable property owners/developers in the Burwood Town Centre interested in commissioning a large scale wall mural on their site.

This is an exciting opportunity to host a highly visible landmark artwork along one of Sydney’s most iconic high streets, shaping a major gateway into the Burwood LGA.

Properties should be at least 15 stories high and be:

• Located on Burwood Road within the Burwood Town Centre or;
• Significantly visible to the public from Burwood Road within the Burwood Town Centre

Required submission details

• Name and contact details; including phone number and email address
• Property address
• Building height and number of stories
• An indication that you can commit to the proposed timeline
• Number of available wall surfaces and wall measurements
• Ability to fund or co-fund project

All applications must be completed using the form below by 5.00pm on Monday 24 April 2023.

Please note, Burwood Council reserves the right to withdraw this expression of interest at any time, or decline entering into an agreement with any interested party. The selection of a suitable premises is at the discretion of Burwood Council.
