Council have engaged a contractor to undertake the works for this project and they have commend on site.
Visitors may notice pockets of construction sites as we work to complete the ancillary works including the upgrades to the chess-style performance space, installing the new Exeloo toilets, installing fencing for the Dog Off Leash Area and upgrading picnic furniture.
The demolition work for the playground has been completed and works will continue in prepping the area for all the new equipment. Watch this space!
In July 2024, Burwood Council received community feedback on planned upgrades to existing facilities and a new inclusive playground in Burwood Park.
The project will update existing public furniture and equipment, and contribute to significant social benefits through the development of a new inclusive play space where people of all abilities can meet, play, and have fun.
This project will deliver:
- Inclusive playground
- Picnic facilities and accessible BBQs
- Accessible toilet block
- Shade and paving over outdoor chessboard
- Wayfinding signs
