We are looking for staff interested to join a Working Group to champion the development of Burwood’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

What is a Reconciliation Action Plan?

A RAP is a strategic document that aims to build strong, respectful relationships and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both within Council and the local Burwood community.

What’s involved?

The Working Group will oversee the development (and later implementation) of the Burwood RAP.

Working group members will attend:

  • a meeting once a month during the development phase (April to July), or as needed, and
  • one or two workshops (May and June).

A First Nations consultant will work with the Working Group to build the skills and knowledge of Council staff through the RAP development process.

We want a mix of representatives, both First Nations and non-First Nations staff, from all areas of the organisation.
